Blessings in a Bag

FLOC Blessings in a Bag

There is a downtown Dayton school where over 30 of the children in attendance do not eat over the weekend. The families are very poor, and their teachers have identified these children as those who need our help. We fill their book bags on Fridays; we are careful to be very circumspect in how we offer our assistance so as not to alert their fellow students.

Food is a necessity that falls under the “Big Three”: food, water, and shelter. All three of these things can be found in abundance at a child’s school, but what happens when they leave? There is a downtown school in Dayton where over 30 of the children in attendance at the time of this writing do not eat over the weekend. This is something we knew we could help with, and so we did.

Blessings in a Bag is a program that’s been designed to ensure that no child goes hungry over the weekend. The teachers of these students have worked with us to help identify these children, and we do our part to make sure their book bags are filled on Fridays before they leave for home. We are careful to be as circumspect as possible in how we offer our assistance to these children as not to alert their fellow students.

Please help us in supporting a great local company that is helping FLOC! Coffee Caboose
