What’s Going on with FLOC? (9/26 – Upcoming Events Within!)
First and foremost, FLOC would like to thank the dear Roddy family who most generously hosted the fantastic WoodFLOCk event this past weekend. The 60’s lived again in their most beautiful home, complete with peace signs and hay barrels and phenomenal bands that played the likes of Janis, Dylan and Hendricks. It was FANTASTIC. Thank you to all who participated- all who volunteered their time and energy and their artistic talents. Thank you to all of you who attended- complete with the flowers in your hair! We are just so appreciative.
Second, here is a list of upcoming FLOC events! If you would like to volunteer or have any questions please contact Beth Mann at email@example.com
October 28th, 6:00-8:00, Harvest Party, FLOC offices, 128 W. 1st St., 45402. We could use volunteers to help us have fun with the kids attending!
November 2nd, 6:30-? Anti-bullying meeting, New Beginnings for You, 405 W. 1st St. This is a most pervasive and disturbing reality; we’re trying to educate our youth in how to deal with this, giving them information and resource. Any of you who may like to join in our programming, they are most welcome. We just held our third anti-bullying rally, in honor of Paul Hauan, a dear young man who killed himself due to excessive bullying. Hundreds were in attendance; we have both the bully and the bullied represented. We’re trying to shed much light on this.
November 16th and 17th, 11:00-4:00, Christmas for Kids registration at FLOC offices. We need volunteers here for the thousands of children registering. We would appreciate any help! If you are hoping to register your children for our Toy Cottage, please call our offices for detailed information at 937.223.3562.
December 6th, 7th and 8th, FLOC offices, orientation for Christmas for Kids. In this orientation, we will share information on how to serve our Christmas shoppers as personal shoppers. A MOST rewarding experience!!! At this point, you will be signing up for shifts on the 14th or 15th, or both!

We’d also like to send out a HUGE thank you to the students from the Miami Valley School for all of their amazing help with the organization of our FLOC offices! Thanks to you we’re primed and ready to take off with this year’s Christmas for Kids program in the most organized way possible!
