I would like to thank the wonderful community that is our hometown of Dayton. FLOC has not tabulated numbers yet, but I do know we helped hundreds and hundreds of families celebrate Christmas this year because you cared. We had so many donations this year. Scarves, hats, mittens, stockings- these items went so quickly they were barely even displayed. And the smiles these comforts provided, the joy in knowing these caregivers could keep their children warm.
We had gift cards and watches and toys galore for every age; lots and lots of games to be offered, and love on every shelf. There are so many of us out there who are looking at bleak, empty flooring that will be the foundation of Christmas. The fact that so many of you came together to provide the sparkle and magic that is Christmas for those who had none, well, that to me embodies the spirit of our celebration. Thank you for allowing us to sprinkle Santa on so many. And a most grateful hug and thanks to the wonderful volunteers who dedicated their time and energies in making this happen. I’ll have more for you on this special event later- now I want to go celebrate the joy of family. Happy holidays to you all, and again and again, thank you.
