Our Executive Board

Beth Mann

President of the Board

Ok, here goes… I am a mother to three beautiful and brilliant and beloved children who gave me the ride of a lifetime throughout their magical and brief moment of childhood. Then, as children do, they grew up and started their own rides.

I searched for places where I could help other children grow up utilizing my bachelor’s and master’s in child psychology, and found FLOC, where so many children needed love and support. It has been an incredible journey, filled with much new knowledge, such an appreciation for the struggles our youth face, and the hard hitting truth of just how much you can change the lives of individual children who have nothing but your voice to speak for them.

I am profoundly grateful to a community that does so much to serve such need, and to an organization that is so hands on, who fills my heart every day with a new and inspiring story. I have the great fortune of hearing the story, and finding the resource to help; that’s what we do at FLOC. That’s what our board does, that’s what our volunteers do, that’s what our community allows us the privilege of doing.

The impact and dramatic reality of how you can bring color to a child living in a black and white world is simply astonishing; please join us in our efforts to make the world a brighter place for the children we serve.

Sue Spiegel

She volunteers her time by shopping year round for the best buys, close outs and after Christmas clearances all assuring our beloved constituents that their most valued monetary donations are spent with the utmost thriftiness.

Christy Lowe

Community Outreach Coordinator

Christy Henry-Lowe has been a member of the FLOC executive board for eight years and is currently the organization’s Community Outreach Coordinator.

This role enables Christy to do what she loves—go into the community and share FLOC’s important mission!

Her favorite FLOC program is the Christmas program. Her love for this annual event was born from a personal experience as a child when she received a used toy for Christmas. Recalling how unimportant that made her feel, she enthusiastically reaches out to the community each year to ensure every participating child receives a nice (and brand new!) toy for the holidays.

Doug Mann

Director of Marketing

Doug Mann has been a strong and vocal advocate for FLOC for over 30 years. Early in 1990, Doug learned that many foster children did not receive Christmas presents over the holidays. He immediately initiated a fundraiser at his firm, Dyer, Garofalo, Mann and Schultz that provided hundreds of foster children with Christmas joy. Now that number is in the thousands, and includes children without in the Dayton area.

Doug has been deeply immersed in every aspect of FLOC. He currently serves as the Marketing Director, and under his supervision and passion, has raised great awareness in our community of just what FLOC does, and how and where people can serve.

Doug has initiated new programming, has raised innumerable funds, and is present at each important and heartwarming event wherein we meet the children we are lucky enough to serve.

FLOC is extremely fortunate to have Doug Mann at the forefront of our mission to serve area children in need.
