Scholarships
This year FLOC offered a $2500 college scholarship to a very deserving youth from the Dayton area. With the help of our community partner, PACE, we will track progress, and based on academic performance, will revisit this scholarship on an annual basis for the student.

The Winter Ball
The Winter Ball- this is an annual event hosted through Independent Living from Children’s Protective Services. Many of our kids do not get to attend prom or homecomings due to constant transport, so Independent Living has a dance in the first week of December for this group of kids. Tools for School
Tools for School is also in great need. Many of our children cannot afford school supplies; we would like to tap on area office supply suppliers that may be able to donate to our children. The list of needs is endless.
Christmas for Kids
Christmas for Kids is an ongoing need. We would like to have donations throughout the year; with a population of nearly 6,000 children, we are in a constant need of filling our shelves.
The Gala
Our biggest fundraiser is our gala, wherein our college scholarship recipients present their testimonials, and we share our programs with the Dayton community. This year, 2011, the gala will be held at Beth and Doug Mann’s home on August 28. We will be hosting this event annually.
The Betsy Hoobler Skill Center
Opening in the fall of 2012, FLOC is offering academic tutoring to area children who need help with their studies.
